I came across an amazing invention created by Seok-Hyung Bae, Ravin Balakrishnan and Karan Singh. It is a 3D curve sketching system that captures some of the affordances of pen and paper for professional designers, allowing them to iterate directly on concept 3D curve models.
Before we proceed further, do watch the demonstration video below. It’s worth the time
ILoveSketch from Seok-Hyung Bae on Vimeo.
“The system coherently integrates existing techniques of sketch-based interaction with a number of novel and enhanced features. Novel contributions of the system include automatic view rotation to improve curve sketchability, an axis widget for sketch surface selection, and implicitly inferred changes between sketching techniques. We also improve on a number of existing ideas such as a virtual sketchbook, simplified 2D and 3D view navigation, multi-stroke NURBS curve creation, and a cohesive gesture vocabulary.” – quoted from ilovesketch.com
Here are some examples drawn from the system

I wish the creators success for this product and will like to see how to apply colors/textures to the sketches in near future.
Probably can be a tool for making some movies too!

hey, this is good stuff, Im happy I found this article cause i was surfing for something similar since last weekend. thanx!!
Great work. I think the commercial success of this thing may also hinge upon how well they can integrate with other existing 3D sketching tools such as AUTOCAD/Bryce 3D. This should at least be able to read/write files usable by other software.
ooohmy god it is amazing just tell me cant i buy 1 plz plz i just love it………its awsum man.gr8 work
Definitely something I would invest in! Awesome Idea!
Great Invention. Great Site!
Keep it up Johnson!
looks awesome..:) great invention!!
Wow, I am blown away!
Exactly! And I like the way to erase lines. Simply scribble around the unwanted ends and they are gone.
Incredible. Can’t wait to see the improved version soon.
Hmm. I’m wondering how did the program/system manage to detect where exactly I draw on the 3D space.
For e.g. there can be plenty of coordinates along an axis if you know what I mean.
Impressive invention. That’s alot of maths.
