Revisiting the Start of Pixel IDs

Ever thought of creating your own sprite design like those seen in arcade games? Here are some examples that I’ve found from a game call Guilty Gear.

I will follow up with a tutorial on how to produce such graphics in my coming post 😉

But before I do that, I hope to share something, call Pixel IDs, with everyone. As I don’t frequent DeviantArt back then, I totally overlooked a pixel art campaign happened a year ago. This was an interesting concept and it really united the artists at DeviantArt somehow. Many of them submitted their amazing pixel arts in a standard template. Below are some examples. Click on them to view their actual size and see the formation of pixels.

You can find more examples by searching for "Pixel ID" in DeviantArt. I’m pretty sure you’ll be impressed by the collection of arts generated by it.

Here is the template that everybody designed on.

Interesting isn’t it!! (At least I feel this way :D) So watch out for my coming post on tutorial for creating such Pixel IDs and hope everyone can share your pixel works here soon. Cheers!
