Faces of the One and Only MTV Logo

We have read a lot of rules for creating a good logo; "Do not use more than three colors", "Avoid intricate details", "It should not be distracting" and etc. No doubt that those are really great fundamentals for logo designing, there is one particular logo that is free from all these rules and is forever changing but yet we all can still recognize it.

MTv logo is designed by Frank Olinsky and his team at Manhattan Design in 1981. It is not an easy task to create a logo that has been popular for so many years. Check out the MTv logo story here written by Olinsky himself.

You can also find it in 3D. Notice that designers are only manipulating the "M" but keeping the same for "Tv" so we can still relate them to the original logo.

   Great post Johnson! I have always loved how Mtv has switched up the style on all their logos and ads from time to time.
