10Steps.SG got Redesigned with a Brand New Look

Apologies for the lack of blog updates recently. I have been working hard on redesigning the site. This is a project that I wanted to do since last November and now it is finally done! So, welcome back! Hope everyone will like the new look. There are a number of features that I wish to highlight after receiving multiple suggestions on how to make this a better place for design information.

Increased Font Size

It has been pointed out by many that the earlier font size is too small that makes reading difficult. I am now using Arial with a bigger size. The colours are also taken in consideration to make sure they do not blend in with the backgrounds.

Icon for each Category

We are having various types of tutorials and design resources here. Readers have own preferences and I think having an icon to tag beside each post thumbnail will make their search more straight forward when looking at a full list of mixed content.

Slideshow Gallery

I like to have rotating slides at the front page and have been looking for alternatives to Flash-based solution. JonDesign’s Smooth Gallery is a fantastic formula that I will want to recommend. Now I can showcase my highlight posts with this lightweight and free slideshow system.

Reduced in No. of Social Tools

Many social tools are removed because I do not have the time to use them. I frequent Twitter the most and really hope we can all stay connected with it. That is also the reason I added the compact tweetmeme button after every post summary. Easier for us to share information with our friends this way I hope.

Related Posts with Thumbnails

The dull list of related posts is now accompanied with beautiful thumbnails. Hope some of the earlier articles wrote can still have some areas to surface. Do check them out once awhile!

Thanks to all readers who informed me that they found other websites that plagiarized my Photoshop tutorials. There is no credit to 10Steps.SG but both texts and screenshots are 100% duplicates.
